Our medical history review process is here if you need it and has been designed to provide you with peace of mind. We will assess your pet’s health history to see how it might impact your pet insurance coverage.
We’ll let you know if your pet has any medical conditions that would be considered pre-existing, so you’ll know exactly what you can and can’t claim for in advance.
Available as soon as you sign up
After you have purchased a policy, you can request a medical history review for your pet at any time.
We advise asking for a medical history review if your pet has experienced any illnesses or injuries before you bought your policy. When in doubt, request a review.
How to request a medical history review
After signing up, simply email a medical history review request to AskClaims@PawProtect.com and we’ll send you an email confirmation. We will need your pet’s detailed medical records from 12 months before your policy began, or since your pet came home with you if they are a puppy or kitten or recently adopted.
The request for medical records will be sent at the end of your 14-day illness waiting period and the review will begin once the records are received by Paw Protect.
If the result of the medical history review shows an unwanted change in your coverage due to pre-existing conditions, you can cancel at any time for a partial refund of the unused premium.
